About

Andrew applies the lessons he has learned from litigating some of the nation’s most complex cases to craft creative and effective legal solutions for his clients’ most pressing legal needs.  Recognizing that problems must first be understood before they can be solved, Andrew works tirelessly to simplify even the most complex legal issues so that they are understandable and persuasive to judges and juries.

Andrew specializes in complex commercial litigation and appeals and has extensive briefing, oral argument, and deposition experience. Andrew practices in both state and federal court.  Andrew has been recognized by Super Lawyers: Texas Rising Star (2024) and by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for Commercial Litigation (2021-2024).

Andrew has experience on a wide range of legal matters of various sizes, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. For example, some of Andrew’s litigation matters have included:

  • Representing a midstream oil and gas company in a case seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in damages for trespass, defamation, and tortious interference with a contract claims.
  • Defending a video game retailer against tens of millions of dollars in breach of contract claims brought by a national consulting firm.
  • Representing a national heavy machinery rental company in various trade secrets cases in state courts across the country and in a federal multi-district litigation.
  • Representing a financial technology company in a lawsuit against the Federal Trade Commission for alleged deceptive and unfair practices.
  • Representing an international consulting firm in an arbitration defending against employment discrimination claims.
  • Representing an oil and gas company against claims for overtime wages and other damages under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  • Representing a title insurance and property valuations company against a claim for $80 million in attorney’s fees.
  • Representing an estate against a claim for $20 million in attorney’s fees after the case was remanded from the Texas Supreme Court.
  • Representing a beverage distribution company in claims against other beverage companies for breach of contract and tortious interference claims.

Andrew understands that when it comes to litigation, one-size doesn’t fit all—Andrew partners with his clients to ensure that their specific legal objectives are met in the most efficient way possible.

Prior to joining Hilgers Graben, Andrew practiced for nearly seven years at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher.  Andrew served as a law clerk first for the Honorable Michael W. Andrew earned his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.
