About

Based in Washington, D.C., Carisa is skilled in the execution of defensible e-discovery processes relating to contentious, high-stakes commercial litigation and investigations.  She uses her extensive knowledge of electronic discovery processes and information management to leverage best practices and efficiencies.  Prior to joining Hilgers, Carisa worked at Covington & Burling, where she specialized in complex pharmaceutical multidistrict litigation, DOJ civil and criminal investigative demands, FTC and DOJ antitrust matters, internal corporate investigations, False Claims Act matters, and securities, financial and banking investigations and litigations.  Carisa’s experience includes working for Fortune 500 and multinational companies in a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, entertainment and media, technology, sporting industry, banking and securities.

Carisa has expertise in leveraging technology and processes in the discovery process for cost-effective thematic and expert witness reviews, complex privilege logs, and deposition preparation.  She also has conducted deep dives into large universes of data to examine client materials for fraud, risk and compliance related patterns and key issues.
