About

Luke Landers is experienced litigator with unique experience in the financial, real estate, and construction industries. As a former Ivy League Champion offensive lineman, he is a lead blocker for his clients and their interests.  He has a rare combination of emotional intelligence and grit that allows him to build trust quickly and provide elevated service and results to his clients. He brings a strong background in corporate law and has proven himself to be a shrewd litigator and counselor.

As a former investment banker, Mr. Landers is fluent in the language of business. He has a unique skill set that helps him translate complex financial documentation in to easily discernible and winning legal analysis.

Mr. Landers represents a wide variety of clients in the areas of corporate litigation in addition to business and commercial transactions.  Mr. Landers has represented a number of general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers in complex multi-party construction litigation with excellent results. Mr. Landers has handled cases complicated construction matters involving issues related to steel welding, timely completion of work, and matters involving intricate issues of contract interpretation and surety law.  He has represented commercial and residential landlords in all aspects of real estate litigation.

Luke maintains his national law practice based out of California, where he lives with his wife, Emily. He is active in the Pepperdine Law alumni community and helped establish Vintage Church Malibu in 2017, where he continues to serve on its Board of Directors.

  • Settlement of multi-million dollar arbitration claim on behalf of unpaid general contractor against real estate developer claiming substantial liquidated damages on a large mix-use project.

  • Successfully opposed real estate developer’s Motion to Expunge Mechanics Lien on behalf of unpaid general contractor on multi-million dollar project.

  • Demurrer of entire complaint granted without leave to amend in landlord-tenant case, which completely dismissed any claim against client.

  • Motion for Summary Judgment granted as well as attorney’s fees and cost granted in breach of contract regarding a real estate transaction.

  • Successfully settling a high exposure premises liability matter for commercial property owner by aggressive preparation for trial and taking key expert depositions, including impeaching opposing expert testimony which included setting up Daubert motion, which led to the case with a week.

  • At mediation in a construction surety bond case, the other side presented their claims in a joint session as the negotiations had reached a standstill. As the other side presented their claims, Mr. Landers was able to prepare a spreadsheet analysis of the other side’s previously unshared claims in real time. He was then able to use this analysis to rebut their claims and further prove up his own client’s claims. The case quickly settled thereafter with a superior result for his client.

  • Coordinated and handled all discovery several multi-million dollar multi-party construction cases, including taking lead on drafting all client discovery responses and propounded discovery, as well as helping lead team of associates reviewing and analyzing millions of documents.

  • Handling client case intake, client relations, and coordinated all discovery complex California wildfire cases.

  • Managing client case intake, client relations, and coordinated client discovery responses in Monsanto multi-jurisdictional litigation.

  • Day to day management and strategy on high volume of State and Federal litigation matters with minimal partner oversight, providing excellent results with lesser legal costs for clients.

  • Participated in a successful Underinsured Motorist Arbitration resulting in an award of $2.4 million for client.

  • Traumatic brain injury settlement of $4 million for client.
