Sue’s tenacity and creative problem-solving skills have led to favorable outcomes for clients in complex high-stakes intellectual property and commercial litigation matters. Her practice focuses on patent disputes, as well as IP counseling, trademark, copyright, and drafting IP contract clauses. Sue’s experience spans a broad range of technologies including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, medical devices, biologics, software, and mechanical devices. She has litigated cases in most major patent district courts and the Federal Circuit, and has handled Inter Partes Reviews in front of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Prior to joining Hilgers Graben, Sue was an associate in the Chicago office of Jenner & Block. Sue graduated from the University of Chicago, where she was the recipient of a Rubenstein Scholarship. Sue also has a research Masters in Chemistry & Biochemistry from the University of California where her thesis analyzed the effect of backbone N-methylation on the cell permeability of small cyclic peptides.
