About
Samantha Wilder is Counsel in the firm’s Discovery and Privacy practices who leverages her substantial experience in privacy, cybersecurity, products liability, reasonable accommodation law, and the public sector to craft pragmatic, holistic solutions for her clients. An innately driven leader and learner, Samantha’s creative problem-solving helps her clients respond to the evolving international and regulatory frameworks that impact data. She has lead eDiscovery efforts in complex commercial litigation and investigations involving millions of documents, and she is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States and is a OneTrust Fellow of Privacy Technology.
Prior to joining Hilgers Graben, Samantha served in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where she oversaw regulatory compliance for a large volume of cases. Samantha represented the Agency to advance administrative and statutory frameworks in front of senior executive officials and fellow attorneys at high-level briefings throughout the Washington, D.C. region. In this capacity, she gained significant knowledge by identifying the laws, policies, and regulations which impeded departmental goals. In addition, she combines her years of experience in private practice as a litigator and in eDiscovery, where she focused on various forms of complex litigation, including class action, mass action, and multidistrict (MDL), catastrophic injury, commercial warranty, and general liability concerning allegations ranging from concussion and traumatic brain injury to antitrust and competition, patent infringements and disputes, trade secrets, breach of contracts, JAMS arbitrations, employment matters, medical devices, and wide ranging Government investigations, like campaign finance, information requests, Second Requests, and Civil Investigative Demands (CID).
Before law school, Samantha was a process efficiency consultant for one of the country’s largest defense contractors. With an eye towards consistent cost savings and pragmatic solutions, Samantha’s background as a private-sector consultant informs her case and matter leadership today. Away from her practice, Samantha enjoys traveling, hiking with her German Shorthaired Pointer, exploring Virginia’s many wineries, and attending lectures at the University Club of Washington, DC.
