Katherine is an experienced corporate counsel and litigator. Prior to joining Hilgers Graben, Katherine was Assistant General Counsel at Northwestern Mutual where she advised the company on a wide variety of legal and regulatory issues related to financial products and services. Before going in-house, Katherine clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, worked as an associate in the Chicago office of Schiff Hardin LLP and was a name partner at the boutique litigation firm, Carey & Hartmann. Her private practice experience encompasses all aspects of civil litigation and dispute resolution, including the successful mediation, arbitration and litigation of complex commercial matters, securities and commodities fraud claims, business disputes and professional liability claims.
Katherine graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she was Managing Editor of the Minnesota Law Review, and earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
